I may record an extended version at some point (without accompaniment), because the song in its entirety is very beautiful, and I could only find accompaniment for the abbreviated version.
It’s weird how I can talk when the camera isn’t on but the moment it starts recording I can’t think of what I was supposed to say and start mispronouncing words. : P
But that’s OK. I’m really excited to be doing this and I feel blessed to have this opportunity. I really appreciate everyone’s support and it really means a lot to be a part of such an encouraging community.
After I decide on the format for the videos – I’ll post another video with more information.
I’ve really enjoyed other ocarina performances of this song on Youtube, so I thought I’d give it a try. It was composed in 1940 by Consuelo Velázquez before her sixteenth birthday.
Much thanks to OcarinaKorea for inspiring me to learn this song.
This is probably on of the most recognizable songs of my generation. Every time I hear or it or play it, it brings back so many happy memories of playing Mario as a kid.
Koji Kondo is directly responsible for my love of ocarina and I’m thankful for his influence on culture for the past 20 or so years. I don’t think Nintendo would have been nearly as successful without his catchy tunes.
