Princess Mononoke was the first Studio Ghibli movie I saw and one of the things that struck me was the amazing music. It was my first exposure to Joe Hisaishi’s compositions and this was the first one I learned to play on the ocarina.

This is one of my favorite pieces to play on my Chen Ching Triple. It was composed by Taiwanese ocarina artist You Xue-shi, and you can find it on his latest album, The Steadfast Palm Grass. ^_^
I think this melancholy piece really captures the spirit of the ocarina, and the chords at the beginning of the chorus really do make a sound that reminds me of wind.
